Discuss a Technical Requirement

South African radio astronomy roots
Hundreds of units in operation
Digitiser and transceiver developments
High-speed RF and DSP expertise
Proven in demanding environments
Specialist Engineering
Engineering the complete path from signal to usable data
Wideband systems often need more than a collection of standard components. Bandwidth, timing, interfaces, signal integrity, processing and deployment conditions must work together as one system.
WRS brings together RF design, high-speed digitisation, firmware, digital signal processing and systems integration to develop solutions around the requirements of each application.
About WRS
From RF capture
to digital insight
WRS works across the signal path, connecting RF acquisition, high-speed digitisation, timing, digital processing and data transport into a system designed for the wider mission.
Our Core Capabilities

Wideband Receiver Systems
Receiver-chain architecture, RF front ends and signal-capture systems developed around the application, available infrastructure and required performance.

Direct
RF Digitisation
Wideband ADC and DAC systems with the timing, synchronisation and data movement needed for demanding real-time applications.

FPGA &
Signal Processing
Custom firmware and digital signal processing for packetisation, channelisation, measurement, control and application-specific algorithms.

Custom Hardware Engineering
RF design, complex PCB development, peripheral hardware and RF-over-fibre solutions for specialised system requirements.

Integration, Test
& Support
Integration with existing antennas, receivers, network infrastructure and processing pipelines, supported by system testing and technical handover.
Engineered Platforms
Proven technology for demanding signal paths
WRS develops hardware platforms that can be supplied as products or used as part of a wider custom-engineered system.
TRX-6G4-S Transceiver
A four-channel receiver and one-channel transmitter platform with 6 Gsps, 12-bit digitisation, FPGA processing and high-speed Ethernet interfaces.
Mission data recorder
A compact and robust data-recording system for reliable CAN and serial message capture, with sub-millisecond timestamping, dual redundant storage, high-speed USB downloads, and access through a GUI or Python scripts.
SYN-9G2-D RF Synthesiser
A compact dual-channel synthesiser covering 20 MHz to 9.8 GHz, designed for straightforward integration and control.
The people behind the scenes
Specialist experience across the signal path
WRS is a focused team of engineers with experience across RF systems, digitisation, firmware, digital signal processing, hardware development and systems integration.
